As for the trading at the ports, I'm having a hard time remembering what's a high versus a low price because I'm running for my life trying not to die. Did you toy around with the idea of Class 1-8 ports like in TW2002 and discard it?
Was the speed of the asteroids an issue on level 2 with the back hole? I may want to move that to a later level, as it gets very OP when it slings them around like bullets. And by a later level, you could have more shields and a better ship. For the ports, what I can do is change them to be more like TW. Add a label for BBB,BSB,BBS etc., and while in the port, change the menus to be buy, sell, buy, and then add a buy all, sell all, etc. Besides the values, I can put a P/L based upon whether you bought commodities vs collected them, so it may show 15c to buy from you with a (+5cr) indicating a profit?
